3D Structural Modelling & Drafting

3D modelling for small or larg construction projects are vital to ensure sufficient planning, advance clash checks, design confirmation, better estimation of materials and correct fabrication.

Incorporate 3D modelling early into your next project to realise the benefits of ‘model once cut once’.

Benefit also from the savings found in costly re-design and re-installation rework due to misunderstood project output and visualisation.

3D Modelling & Detailing

AVI Engineering provides the following 3D services:

  • 3D Modelling
  • General arrangement drawings
  • Erection drawings
  • Fabrication shop drawings including assembly and part drawings
  • B.O.M Reporting

At AVI Engineering, our years of drafting experience, combined with our detailed engineering eye for detail and use of today’s advanced 3D modelling software, helps us to identify challenges while they are still on the drawing board.

We love to work on projects in different fields and sectors, whether it’s above ground or below ground, whether it’s one story tall or 1 football field long. When that last piece of steel is lifted and bolted in place and we see our 3D model come to life, that makes it all worth it.

We pride ourselves on customer interaction and service. We work closely with your architects, engineers,  builders and structural steel fabricators to ensure all our I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed and nothing is left unturned.

At AVI, we’ve worked on many projects for a variety of clients, each different from each other and with their unique challenges. However, we provide ourselves on being a real practical and hands-on engineering firm and are willing to trek national parks, scale high-rise buildings, navigate toxic sewage treatment plants or simply take that long scenic drive to remote locations to undertake our own site survey measurements to get the job done.

3D Site Modelling for Telecommunications

3D Modelling is a great tool for understanding what a structure or building will look like before it is built. And for most construction projects, steel beams, roof structures, support columns rarely change over its life span and will be hidden behind walls and ceilings never to be seen again.

However, 3D modelling for telecommunications structures is very ‘active’ with changes and upgrades happening on a regular basis, other carriers sharing the same structure, improved technologies needing to be added to or swapped out. Thus, having a near ‘live’ up-to-date model that captures accurately what’s on site plus all additional changes for each subsequent project will ensure nothing is lost or forgotten by any department. Everyone within the organisation will be able to interrogate or undertake a virtual ‘site visit’ to know what’s on site, who’s on site, how much space is available, are there possible obstructions issues for an upcoming  planned project etc.

Does your carrier manage a site? If so then 3D modelling is what is needed. How you may ask? Many structures, towers, rooftops, plant rooms, basement floors, telecommunication and IT server room facilities etc may have been neglected and unmanaged for some time. New equipment, racks, motors, antennas, dishes, ducting and other mechanical services have been added without proper documentation or possibly approval. The difficult tasks of knowing what is on site, who it belongs to and its operational status is a nightmare. The task of sifting through hundreds of site photos, dozens of draft drawings, red-line drawings, FC drawings, as-built drawings, EME reports, Tx reports, waddling through hundreds of email and paper trails is a nightmare no one wants to relive.

Thus, at AVI, we can provide a detailed and comprehensive site audit and provide a full 3D 1:1 scale accurate model of what is on site and where. We’ll also generate a detailed equipment audit report from our model for easy lookup and cross-referencing. With each subsequent project change on site, we can update the model to keep every person in every department up-to-date and across all changes.

Have peace of mind knowing what assets are under your management.
